The location of New California in Xindian is excellent, right by the MRT and bus stations, making travel convenient. I loved the views from my room and found it clean and cozy. The breakfast buffet offered a decent variety, especially the local options. Free items from the mini bar were a nice touch, enhancing the value of the stay. However, my room faced the street, and the traffic noise was bothersome, making it hard to open the window. Cleaning could improve further. I found some dust under the bed and other overlooked areas. The staff's English skills were minimal, which sometimes slowed down communication, but one helpful receptionist stood out. All in all, a comfortable stay with great amenities but some room for improvement.

First off, the traffic noise was unbearable at night. I couldn't get a good night's sleep with the windows open. The cleanliness of the room left much to be desired, there was dust gathering under the bed, and I even found a couple of old slippers that weren't mine. Additionally, the staff's lack of English made communication frustrating. it felt like I was always stumbling through interactions.

The location near public transportation is unbeatable, making exploration incredibly easy. Enjoyed the tasteful local buffet breakfast with award-winning local meats, which added a delightful culinary touch. However, the lingering smell of smoke in the room was quite off-putting, and some noise from the street made for a restless night. The cleanliness could be improved, as I noticed dust in corners and under the bed.

Location is perfect—metro and bus right next door! The room was spacious and clean, with tons of movies. The hotel even offers a handy washer and dryer for that unexpected laundry panic.

But, oh dear, the bathroom without a shower curtain turned into a water park! Also, rooms had this overwhelming lingering smoke smell. maybe get some air fresheners, darling.

i had a fantastic stay at new california for valentine's day, totally exceeded my expectations. the breakfast buffet was delicious, and the view from my clean room was lovely. it was a breeze to get to taipei via the nearby mrt, and the area was perfect for a stroll along the river.
